“ Give Blood And Keep The World-Beating ”
Vision Tactical – Millions of lives are saved with a blood donation… Every year, World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on June 14th to raise awareness of the need for safe blood as a lifesaving gift.
Currently, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) faces a huge blood shortage with far below than the minimum stock required to deal with the country’s needs.
Vision Tactical together with its partners have joined hands with the SANBS to initiate a mobile blood donation drive for residents in the Houghton, Rosebank, Killarney and the Norwood area, however the blood drive is open to all eligible to donate.
Date: 14th June 2021
Time: 9am – 4pm
Location: 49 West Street, Houghton Estate
Director of Vision Tactical Yaseen Theba says that a donation of blood means a few minutes to you, but a lifetime for somebody else.
“Despite the pandemic we currently find ourselves in, we encourage one and all, existing and new donors to make an effort by coming out and donating blood, all COVID-19 protocols will be observed before, during and after the blood donation.”
Theba has thanked regular blood donors and added that Vision Tactical will strive to always create maximum exposure and draw public awareness of the need for regular blood donations.
“Donating blood is an act of solidarity with lives having been saved through blood donation, we urge people in good health who have never given blood to begin doing so, this effort enhances community solidarity and social cohesion.”
Theba has also encouraged the youth to embrace the humanitarian call to donate blood and inspire others to do the same.
The SANBS has urged all eligible donors to visit their nearest mobile and fixed donor centres in order to save more lives this festive season.
Theba thanked individuals who have donated blood and encouraged those who have not yet donated blood to start donating.
